Start the year off with a bang... right?
The Ultimate Blog Challenge
A challenge to write every day for the month of January. As you read this, however, I am 2 days behind...
I go by Dani online and have recently given myself the online persona of "Literary Yapper"-- Even if I haven't done a lot of yapping these past couple weeks. This is the new year and with this challenge, I can build better habits and keep my writing journey a float.
I am apart of a company called Seeking Self Love - which gives space and opportunities for those to see what self love is and can be. We have a blog that shares our stories and while I am a writer there, I made this blog site to isolate myself when posting about this challenge because it did not seem all that fair to the owner of SSL to share one site where 2 or more people talk about the same topic. We may be working on building ourselves as a company better this year but our hearts seem to be in the right place.
Goals for 2025
Personally, I am putting all of my goals in a bingo card in my journal once more because it helps me remember that there is no linear path I have to take. Plus, I'll get an award for any bingo's I get- wouldn't that be fun?
For the sake of the blog, I'll share a few.
- Finish writing the first draft of my book "Wait For Me"
- Design and sell 5 pieces of merch in SSL
- Have better eating habits
- Do 10 art commissions (had 5 on my bingo card last year and completed that)
- Be more confident/less harsh on myself about the content I put out.
While in some cases, people could argue quality over quantity but what good is your quality if it does not read the correct people anyways? I'm not saying that you or myself should mass produce content without putting care into it but I also think we shouldn't worry too much on if it looks perfect before putting it out in the world. If you feel good about what you put out- then what could be a better reward? You are sharing your work- not asking for criticism (Unless you are... then I hope you get the constructive criticism that you are looking for).
Admiration
The prompt for the third day of The UBC.
You would think that someone from a "spreading love" type of company would have it easy when it comes to picking someone or something they admire. But I feel stumped. Not in a way that says I don't have anyone but more so, how could I choose that doesn't feel like I'm hurting someone?
So I will say I admire the fictional characters I have created in my book and for other personal endeavors. They are the reason for bringing back my love for writing and if I could thank them I would. I will simply write their stories in place of my gratitude for every word is a symbol of my admiration towards their story, their life, their personalities that I had the honor of creating. To them, I am someone who sealed their fates but to me, they have sealed mine. Bound to write in pages of their life for they could not continue without me. A fate I will take easily if it meant they get a happy ending.
I aspire to finish their stories because I admire the little characters dearly.
This is very cool! I love the idea of creating a BINGO card. I never heard of doing that! What a great way of keeping your eye on the prize.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! May there be multiple bingos in your future <3
DeleteA Bingo card, what a great idea! I peeked at your SSL site and will be interested in see what you plan to add to your collection!
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness THANK YOU for peeking at SSL! It's one of my goals to add to collection properly so TRUST it will be there <3
DeleteI also love the idea of a bingo card. It’s a unique way to track your successes.
ReplyDeleteYesss! Plus it's funnn!
DeleteTell me more about "Goal Bingo", it sounds like a fun way to work on your priorities 😎
ReplyDeleteYes!! And with it being on a bingo card style, you don't have to feel pressured to go in any particular order. Then when you have 4 out of 5 in a row- you can choose whether or not to prioritize what's missing from the bingo! Then of course, you get to give yourself a reward for said bingo! >:))
DeleteI love you nickname of literary yapper and the idea of the bingo card for your goals. I was drawn to your post today because you're already posting and inviting people to your site even while you're working on it. You're not waiting for everything to be perfect. And I think THAT is awesome.!
ReplyDeleteThank youu! I figured that if I had waited till I had deemed it perfect, I would be more than just a couple days late to the challenge LOL
DeleteThank you, for sharing your resolutions with us. I have mine written down in my journal with my word all of the year. I love the idea of a Bingo Card and may see if my son and husband would like to do that to help move them forward in making resolutions.
ReplyDeleteYAYY! You could even make it into a friendly family game and see who gets bingo first! Plus, I think it's a sweet way to keep each other accountable because one day you can be like "I'm 3 away from a bingo" and it'll be a sort of reminder to look back at your card/goals!
